Brazzaville and Kinshasa to get separate daily flights from Ethiopian by 01st September

ETHIOPIAN AIRLINES ANNOUNCES SEPARATION OF KINSHASA AND BRAZZAVILLE FLIGHTS

Ethiopian Airlines has now confirmed that they will separate the two destinations of Kinshasa / Congo DR and Brazzaville / Republic of Congo from the first of September. Presently the airline operates a B787-8 aircraft on the triangular route which leaves Addis and then flies via Kinshasa on to Brazzaville before returning to Addis Ababa.

A rise in passenger numbers and cargo shipments is the main reason which allowed ET to progress to direct flights and from added details obtained Kinshasa will remain a B787-8 Dreamliner destination while Brazzaville will be served with a B767-300ER aircraft.

Both flights, to Brazzaville under flight number ET 831 and to Kinshasa under flight number ET 842 will leave within 15 minutes of each other from Addis Ababa at 11.45 hrs and 12.00 hrs noon respectively. Both services are daily.

In a related development it was also learned that South African Airways appears keen to talk with Star Alliance partner Ethiopian Airlines over the potential acquisition of a stake in ASKY, the Ghanaian partner airline ET helped to start up and now cooperates with through management advice, code shared flights and other measures.
