In a surprise announcement just released has CCA and ATA, in conjunction with hosts Rwanda Development Board, advised members of the Africa Travel Association that the 41st World Congress due to be held in Kigali from the 14th to the 17th of November has been postponed.
All registered participants but also the speakers and presenters, moderators, panelists and of course the media were informed earlier in the day.
A new date in the first half of 2017 is now being actively sought when the Congress can take place in Kigali’s brand new Convention Center.
CCA, short for Corporate Council on Africa, of which the Africa Travel Association is a Division, has stressed that their commitment to Rwanda as a host country stands resolutely and all parties are working towards an early announcement of the new congress dates.
From added information sourced it is also clear that CCA, which will for the first time oversee an ATA World Congress, will be looking at adding value to the event and making best use of the CCA resources and contacts to perhaps widen the scope of ATA’s premier annual event.
Added information will shortly be available on the ATA website via www.africatravelassociation.org and also from the Rwanda Development Board’s Tourism and Conservation Department.
