Breaking the daily fast in style – Sheraton Kampala style

IFTAR AT SHERATON – A REWARDING MEAL AFTER A DAY OF FASTING

(Posted 05th July 2014)

Sharing an Iftar meal is now a treasured tradition in Kampala and it is no wonder that the Sheraton Kampala Hotel once again organized such a daily meal, which will be served to the Faithful and their friends and invited guests from Monday to Thursday every week until the end of Ramadan.

Breaking the fast with others who observe Ramadan and with invited friends to share the experience of this special month in the Islamic calendar, has become a magnet of sorts in Kampala as the hotel over a number of years has been at the forefront to cater for this special event. Many in fact flock to the Sheraton after work to break their fast in the company of like-minded individuals, enjoying a range of menu items specially prepared for the purpose by the chefs and while the essentials to break the fast are always ready on the table like dates, freshly cut fruits and juices, the rest of the menu, starting from soups over main courses to the desserts, varies from day to day.

As the first week of Ramadan is drawing to an end it will be another three long weeks to go, testing the will and endurance of the Faithful and my best wishes accompany them as they wrestle with temptation and in the end prevail. Ramadan Kareem.
