COME 14TH OF JUNE WILL ENTEBBE / UGANDA ONCE AGAIN ENJOY DAILY BRUSSELS AIRLINES FLIGHTS
(Posted 17th May 2021)
Brussels Airlines is returning their East Africa flights to pre-pandemic levels, effective 14th of June, after gradually upping their service levels until that date.
Presently is Brussels Airlines flying twice a week to and from Entebbe, every Monday and Thursday and from 22nd of May will a third frequency be added, operating on Saturdays.
Once the daily service commences again will flight departure and arrival times also be restored to pre-pandemic timings.
Five of the weekly flights will then operate in conjunction with Kigali / Rwanda while the remaining two services will combine with Bujumbura / Burundi.
Uganda’s tourism and hospitality industry has warmly welcomed the announcement, which will aid the sector’s recovery from a year of constant lows, resulting in a massive loss of revenues and causing layoffs in hotels, restaurants and the tourism industry in general.
Meanwhile has the airline also once again extended their offer to passengers to rebook their flights without any charges.
‘Brussels Airlines and all Lufthansa Group airlines make it possible for their passengers to plan their trip with peace of mind as they extend the free rebooking option. Since the end of August 2020, all fares of Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines and Eurowings can be rebooked to a new date and or destination without a rebooking fee. Uptil now, this fare offer was valid for (re-)bookings until the end of May. Now the offer is being extended again: all airline fares can be rebooked free of charge as often as desired up to July 31, 2021. After that date, one more rebooking is possible free of charge.‘
Lufthansa Group Airlines had already made it possible for its customers to rebook their tickets without a rebooking fee for tickets bought until the 31st of May. The suspension of the rebooking fee is now prolonged until the 31st of July, meaning that passengers of Brussels Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Eurowings, Lufthansa and Swiss can rebook their tickets as often as desired until the 31st of July and one more time after that date. Travel dates can be postponed up to one year after the originally planned travel date.
Passengers who want to postpone their original trip but cannot yet decide on a new date and destination have the option of canceling their booking first, without committing to a new travel date. The new booking must then only be made by August 31, 2021. In this case, the departure date only has to be next year, by July 31, 2022.
The waiver of the rebooking fee applies worldwide for all new bookings in all fares on short, medium and long-haul routes. This enables flexible travel planning for all Lufthansa Group customers.
However, additional costs may arise for rebookings if, for example, the original booking class is no longer available when rebooking to a different date or to a different destination.
Also, rebooking of tickets issued up to and including August 31, 2020, can now be done until July 31, 2021.
