BRUSSELS AIRLINES CARRIED OVER 750.000 PASSENGERS IN OCTOBER

Data received while transiting in Brussels on a journey into Europe revealed a sustained growth in passenger numbers for Brussels Airlines.
With five flights a week to Entebbe and six flights a week to Kigali, the extra service extending to Bujumbura, has strong demand out of these three East African countries, besides sustained European and North American growth, driven passenger numbers up by 5.5 percent, or 39.146 in real numbers.
The European network welcomed 3.2% more passengers, the African network 5.2%. The Trans-Atlantic however saw route traffic grow by a phenomenal 28.4% more passengers mainly due to new destination Toronto, that was launched in April as reported here at the time.
The cargo activity also increased significantly. In total 3,255 tonnes of freight were transported, an increase of 28.1% with East Africa contributing to this growth with added uplift of fresh fish and other perishable goods like vegetables and fruits.
