#BrusselsAirlines CEO updates the carrier’s customers

Dear Customers,

The world is going through unprecedented times of uncertainty and change. Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, we have been following the situation closely to make sure that we do everything possible to protect our customers, as well as our staff and to weigh our decisions carefully.

As travel restrictions continue to be enforced around the world, we unfortunately had to decide to suspend our flights longer than foreseen. We truly regret not being able to welcome you on board again before first of June, when we plan to start flying a small part of our schedule, before gradually working towards a bigger network again. In the meantime, we continue to operate some flights to repatriate stranded travelers and to bring much needed medical supplies and essential humanitarian goods to Africa, the continent we have close ties with since the very beginning of our company’s existence.

Our lives have been turned upside down by the coronavirus crisis and we know that air travel will look differently in the future. As social distancing and protective masks have already become the new normal, we look at how we can best prepare ourselves to make future travel safe in terms of health and at the same time comfortable. In this context, we work closely together with regulators, local governments, civil aviation and health authorities, including the World Health Organisation (WHO), the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and the European Air Safety Agency (EASA) and we will follow their expert advice. We will put in place every measure necessary to protect you and your loved ones when travelling on one of our flights, so that when you are ready to fly again, we will be too.

Last but not least we want to thank you for your ongoing support in these exceptional times. The many heartfelt messages we receive from customers around the world make us even more determined to come back stronger than ever and to remain the trustful partner for your travels.

We look forward to welcoming you on board again in the future.

In the meantime, stay safe and take care of your loved ones.

Sincerely,
Dieter Vranckx
