Brussels Airlines but also partners Austrian Airlines, Eurowings, Lufthansa and SWISS are introducing a new system for the calculation of award miles for flight bookings. For flights booked from 12 March 2018 onwards, the fare will form the new basis for the calculation.
For a Miles & More BASE member, this will mean: fare (ticket price + surcharges levied by the Miles & More partner airline*) x 4 = number of award miles earned. For example, if one has paid a fare of 500 euros, this amount will be multiplied by 4, so a card holder will receive 2,000 award miles for their flight.
Should one achieve a frequent flyer status at some point in the future, that member will also receive an Executive Bonus worth 50% on flights operated by Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, United Airlines, Air Canada, LOT Polish Airlines, Croatia Airlines, Adria Airlines and Air Dolomiti, and 25% on flights operated by Brussels Airlines, Eurowings and all other Miles & More partner airlines*.
Please note: the new system does not apply to status, select and HON Circle miles. These will continue to be awarded in the usual way in accordance with the present system.
By making this change now Brussels Airlines’ intention is to ensure the long-term future of award miles allocation. This new system will also help to avoid having to make further adjustments to the way award miles are allocated in the future.
Further details about the new system, a complete explanation and all the relevant information have already been prepared for card holders.
