#BrusselsAirlines plans return to Entebbe with an initial two flights a week

ONCE ENTEBBE REOPENING IS OFFICIALLY CONFIRMED WILL BRUSSELS AIRLINES RELAUNCH FLIGHTS

(Posted 19th September 2020)

Sources close to Brussels Airlines have confirmed that the airline intends to relaunch flights to Entebbe, in conjunction with Kigali, once the proposed opening of Uganda’s main international airport has been formally sanctioned, which is expected to take place this weekend after months of dithering and agonizing delays.

The initial flight schedule given was that the two weekly flights will leave Brussels on Tuesday and Friday, returning to Brussels from Entebbe on Wednesday and Saturday – for the time being.

There will be different timings and flight numbers too, with SN1455 set to leave Brussels on Tuesdays at 14.20 hrs (p.m.) and SN1467 set to leave Brussels on Fridays at 14.30 hrs (p.m.).

The return services are scheduled to leave Entebbe as SN1456 on Wednesdays at 22.10 hrs (p.m.) and SN1468 at 23.55 hrs (p.m.)

Different timings are expected for flights from November onwards and additional services will depend on demand for the routes to Rwanda and Uganda.

Brussels Airlines had earlier this year already suggested a return to Uganda from mid July onwards but, while the entire region opened up airports from early July and early August respectively, did Uganda’s main airport inexplicably remain closed other than for repatriation and cargo flights.
