Information has been confirmed that Brussels Airlines will be operating a special flight on International Women’s Day from Brussels to Entebbe, via Kigali.
An all ladies crew, including captain and first officer, will be flying the Airbus A330 to Eastern Africa, showing how far women have come in the aviation industry.
While a great deficit vis a vis equality and equitable recruitment in particular for pilots exists, have airlines, and among them Brussels Airlines – a carrier with a female CEO for that matter – made progress in having more and more ladies fly their planes, compared to even ten years ago.
Back then it was a novelty to have an all ladies crew operate a flight, as was International Women’s Day just making an impact around the world.
Brussels Airlines will be joined by fellow Star Alliance member Ethiopian Airlines on the day, which will operate an Addis Ababa- Stockholm – Oslo flight on the same day, 08th of March.
Brussels Airlines flies daily between the European capital city and Entebbe, in conjuction with both Kigali – 6 services a week – and Bujumbura – 1 service per week and is considered a choice airline for Ugandans and Rwandans to fly not just to Brussels but via the Belgian capital to over 100 destinations in Europe, North America and of course Africa.
