LEASED AIRCRAFT TO PROVIDE CAPACITY TO INCREASE FLIGHTS AND DESTINATIONS
(Posted 19th August 2019)
Ahead of the launch of additional destinations in Africa – among them Lagos which the airline plans to serve five times a week – has information emerged that Cabo Verde Airlines has struck additional wetlease deals to provide the aircraft needed to cater for these route expansion plans.
The airline has more recently reportedly signed a wetlease for an ATR42 aircraft, now followed by another for a Boeing B737, the latter likely to be used for the planned flights to Lagos and later in the year to Luanda.
Majority owner Loftleidir Icelandic, itself owned by the Icelandair Group, is understood to be seeking more permanent arrangements for a fleet increase in the future.
