Cape Town nonstop from November as Qatar Airways splits route from Jo’burg

QATAR AIRWAYS DELINKS CAPE TOWN FROM JO’BURG WITH NONSTOP FLIGHTS

The hitherto three flights a week to Cape Town via Johannesburg, by Qatar Airways, will be turned into nonstop flights come November 03rd. Nonstop flights to Johannesburg will remain as per the present schedule.

The airline yesterday made the announcement that as a result of sustained demand for Cape Town they will deploy a B787 and initially operate 5 flights per week between Doha and Cape Town, continuing a further roll out into Africa, connecting the world with Africa and Africa with the world via Doha’s sparkling new Hamad International Airport. Traffic days were given as Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Qatar Airways, one of the world’s few 5star airlines according to Skytrax, is now operating out of their new hub airport, and presently serves 144 destinations with 134 aircraft. The airline has a further 340 aircraft on order worth over 70 billion US Dollars, including A380’s A350’s for which the airline is global launch customer, B787’s and 100 B777X’s ordered at the Farnborough Air Show in the UK a few weeks ago.
