GLOBAL HOSPITALITY GROUP GOES INTO SALES OVERDRIVE AS THREE MORE HOTELS IN THE PIPELINE

Carlson Rezidor’s sales teams from sub Saharan Africa were in Kampala earlier today for the first of several sales missions to the capitals of East Africa.
Pictured above is Ms. Vickie Muyanga, now Regional Director of Sales and Marketing for Eastern Africa and the Indian Ocean islands, based at the Radisson Blu in Nairobi, who is now overseeing the group’s presently two properties in Kenya and Rwanda. The Radisson Blu in Kigali was only opened 10 days ago ahead of the African Union Summit and the adjoining convention centre is also managed and marketed by Radisson.
With Vickie were the Directors of Sales from as far as Zambia and South Africa, showcasing the growing number of Carlson Rezidor properties on the continent.
In East Africa alone will three more hotels enter the market over the next two years, one of them a Radisson Blu in Kampala, where ground was recently broken and construction is now going ahead full speed.
Nearer to completion is the Carlson Rezidor Park Inn in Nairobi’s second CBD hub of Westlands while another Park Inn is expected to open next year in Kigali.
Plans for a Radisson Blu in Juba, as a result of recent events, have been put on hold for the time being.

Vickie’s former position as Director of Sales at the Radisson Blu Nairobi has since been filled by A. J. Wangui, who joined the hotel from her former position on the sales team of Serena Hotels.
