Celebrating Reunion’s natural beauty with new exhibition dedicated to the interior of the island

REUNION CELEBRATES HER NATURAL BEAUTY AS UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE TURNS 5

It is five years this week that UNESCO recognized the rugged magnificence of Reunion’s interior and enscribed the area, a national park under French law, as a site of exceptional natural beauty and biodiversity hotspot, one of less than two dozens’ around the world.

On the 20th of September will a permanent exhibition open on Reunion to showcase, loosely translated ‘Reunion – Nature in harmony with Mankind’.

The exhibition will offer nothing short of a virtual journey across the island, showing off the mountains, the valleys, the gorges and lakes and the waterfalls rushing down rock faces at times several thousand feet high.

Turned into an interactive exhibition will visitors to the exhibition enjoy 3D sights, apart from the more conventional MultiMedia and DVD shows and of course pictures taken by some of Reunion’s finest photographers.

The exhibition will be open on Monday to Saturday from 08.30 hrs until 12.30 hrs and again from 13.30 hrs until 17.00 hrs, but is closed on Sundays and Public Holidays.
