FLYEZEE.COM TO SHOWCASE CHEAPEST FLIGHTS ACROSS EASTERN AFRICA

(Posted 08th July 2014)

The cost of air travel in the East African region has in particular on routes to and from Entebbe rocketed of late, in part as a result of the stubborn resistance by the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority to restore U7’s Air Operator Certificate – notably is the airline safety certified by IATA following a rigorous operational safety audit – and in part for the lack of a low cost airline worth the name, unlike in Tanzania where Fastjet has shaken up the market big time.

As a result has Flyezee.com now launched operations in order to capture travelers who seek cheaper alternatives to fly from point A to point B in East Africa, starting in Tanzania, promising to deliver the cheapest fares on the market, available at the click of a mouse once logged on to their website.

Said Scott Bowler, the man in charge of Corporate Communications and Marketing: ‘Flyezee.com is set to make flying within East Africa easier and cheaper for local residents and international travelers. For the first time it will be possible to compare prices online and book local flights from Coastal, Auric Air, Flightlink and Regional Air with more airlines coming online in Q3 2014, including Air Kenya and Air Excel’. The company has undertaken an investment of some 300,000,000Tanzania Shillings (approximately USD$180,000) to create the web platform and a team of local Tanzania has been hired which will serve customers in both Kiswahili and English. There are according to Scott plans to expand the team into Kenya over the coming months.

Scott also pointed out that this is Tanzania’s first local flight comparison website, allowing visitors to pay for flights via mobile money or credit card.

For passengers looking for ‘deals’ it was until now often difficult to find and plan connecting flights while the new booking platform Flyezee.com automatically finds the flights and offers instant booking facilities without any hidden fees, all done online.

The service is already available in Tanzania and the company is keen to expand into Kenya and other East African countries where the owners feel there is scope to promote direct bookings as the use of mobile devices continues to grow in leaps and bounds. Notably does the company offer flights not only on the main carriers but has signed agreements with Auric Air, Coastal Aviation, Flightlink and Regional Air, all of which cover Tanzania comprehensively with destinations few others serve, and more airlines are expected to come on board later in the year.
