Chinese TV team on Reunion to help promote travel to the island

The island of Reunion in the spotlight of Chinese TV

Originally was the World Film Report a television program broadcast on the CCTV chain in China. Today has the World Film Report become one of the most influential programmes for a billion Chinese viewers.

It’s been fifteen years since the Chinese program World Film Report began journeys around the world to bring to their home audience the diversity of international cinema, but also the natural and cultural variety of the countries visited.

After New Zealand, England or even France – more than eighty countries have already been in the spotlight of this documentary – it was the turn of the island of Reunion to unveil its history, culture , its landscapes, its people, its hospitality and its tourist attractions through two episodes of twenty minutes each.

World Film Report, which direct audience is more than twenty million Chinese viewers, is a wonderful showcase opportunity for Reunion Island and development of its reputation in the Chinese market.

Accompanied by a film crew from CCTV6, Chinese presenter Lisha Li was, upon her arrival in the island, meeting and interviewing the president of Reunion Island Tourism (IRT) Mr. Patrick Serveaux.

Afterward the initial briefings and interviews was the group meeting the people of of Reunion, to discover the natural and cultural heritage of the island, not to mention the many activities included in the program: moraingy demonstration on the beach, a paragliding flight over Bay of Saint-Leu, visiting museums and Kélonia Stella Matutina, white water rafting in the river of rocks, discovery of the Salazie and Hell-Bourg villages, hiking in Mafate, visiting the capital Saint-Denis and its temples, pagodas, mosques, churches and Creole houses, excursions through the colorful alleys of the open market of Saint-Pierre, visiting the Domaine de Café and Saga du Rhum, hiking up to the Piton de la Fournaise and visit the City of Volcano, a stop at the House of Laurina and tasting Bourbon coffee, visiting the Labyrinth in the tea field, exploring the lava tubes, visit a vanilla plantation and much much more. The group will also meet the Reunion Film Agency during his stay, and pay a courtesy call on the Chinese Consulate.

The broadcast of the two episodes of the World Film Report dedicated to the island of Reunion on Chinese television offers major media exposure of the destination for Chinese travelers. These documentaries could also inspire Chinese production companies and give rise to future filming projects for Reunion island.
