STE. ANNE BEACHCOMBER RESORT TO REOPEN AS CLUB MED AFTER EXPANSION AND MODERNIZATION
(Posted 21st November 2017)
The Ste. Anne Beachcomber Resort & Spa, an 87 villa development on a 220 hectares private island owned and operated by New Mauritius Hotels, will be rented out to France’s Club Med when an extensive expansion and modernization programme, under which the hotel’s standards will rise to 5 Star luxury standard, have been completed by the end of 2019.
It is understood that the property will see a further 208 rooms, suites and villas added, bringing the total on the island to 295. This will make it Seychelles largest 5 Star resort with job opportunities for at least 500 people.
Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine Maurice Loustau-Lalanne welcomed the new development which will add much needed extra capacity in the 5 Star segment to the archipelago’s tourism sector.
Club Med will rent the property from the owners for an initial 12 years when the nearly 90 million US Dollars re-development is complete and then market and manage the property which is located just 10 minutes by boat from the main island of Mahe.
Club Med will be the first French hotel management company entering the Seychelles market.
