Coming soon to the Kenya Coast: The Inaugural Mombasa Hotel Show

MOMBASA HOTEL SHOW ON COURSE FOR NOVEMBER 13 – 15

(Posted 30th August 2014)

After two hugely successful hospitality trade shows in 2013 and 2014 in Nairobi, alongside the Hotel Summit East Africa, has Slujan Events now announced the inaugural edition of the Mombasa Hotel Show which is due to take place between the 13th and 15h of November this year.

Information just received from the organizers also confirms that the Mombasa County Government will be the event patron with the County Governor expected to launch the show at Wild Waters, Nyali, Mombasa.

Like in Nairobi is the Mombasa Hotel Show expected to become a prime time hospitality trade event for suppliers and hospitality businesses, more important at a time when the coast is struggling with low occupancies and many hoteliers will be keen to learn about the latest technologies helping them to keep operating cost down.

Also on board is the Kenya Association of Hotel Keepers and Caterers Coast Branch, the leading country wide hospitality trade association.

Said Slujan Events in a media release just received said: ‘The show, themed “Getting Back on Track”, is aimed at increasing investor confidence in the Coast and country at large, and giving our local as well as international product suppliers an edge by providing a platform for them to engage and interact with the businesses, hotels and lodges that are based in the Coast region. This is also an opportunity for the business community to learn more about the business trends in the Coast, their needs, know how to close business deals with the entities in the Coast, and most importantly, increase their client base and make their products and services known.

The show intends to be the leading hospitality business to business event in the Coastal regions of East Africa and a prime reference point for any business owner or investor looking to grow their business. The show will present a holistic view of the hospitality industry with exhibitors being drawn from every sector of the industry.

Some of Kenya’s leading hospitality industry suppliers for equipment and consumables are, like at the Nairobi event, expected to sign up with sponsorships and the winning formula of cooking shows, mixing presentations, wine and whiskey tasting, among other complementary activities, are also expected to feature during the Mombasa event.

In a related development has Slujan Events also just released the report of the Kenya Hospitality Trade Show 2014 and the Hotel Summit East Africa 2014, with the summary and key data shown below to again highlight the importance this event has already claimed after only two editions:

SUMMARY

As we submit this post-show report of the 2nd Kenya Hospitality Trade Fair and the Hotel Summit East Africa, we take this opportunity to thank all our sponsors, partners, exhibitors and the hospitality industry at large for supporting the events and contributing to their success.

During this time when Kenya is dealing with security concerns, the tourism industry has been highly affected, the trade fair and conference provides a pivotal platform for stakeholders to network, interact and discuss solutions to the current state of the industry.

KHTF and HOSEA will continue to show the vast opportunities and interests in the business of hospitality and hotels within the region. We do this by creating platforms where businesses and brands can interact and engage with the consumers at a deeper level, learn the latest trends in the industry, source new products and gain new business contacts.

The trade fair, which ran from 14 – 16 May 2014, at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre, Nairobi-Kenya attracted over 3,800 industry professionals looking to gain inroads to the industry and learn from industry experts. This year the event attracted a high percentage of new exhibitors drawn from the food and beverage industry and hospitality supplies and equipment.

We were very proud to premier exciting event features in the exhibitions industry. These included The Chefs Corner, The Coffee Baristas Challenge, Wine Tasting Sessions and the Bartenders and Mixologists Pavilion.

I can confidently say that, even though we had our good share of challenges, KHTF and HOSEA 2014 were a success, and through all this, the Slujan Events team is working on making next year’s events even better. Our intention and reality is to make our events distinctively unique, continue to grow, bring in the right visitor profile and offer ROI.

As the largest and most influential hospitality supply show in the region, we will continue to support the industry on all levels – delivering business results and promoting exchange of knowledge.

We look forward to another successful show next year.

Kind Regards,

Lucy Gacheru
