SEGERA CAPTURES SIXTH PLACE IN AFRICA IN 2016 EDITION OF CONDE NAST’S READERS CHOICE AWARDS
(Posted 18th October 2016)
The Segera Retreat, part of ‘The Long Run‘ initiative by the Zeitz Foundation, has made it into Conde Nast’s African top ten, claiming sixth place in a very tight contest.
Among the top ten are one property from Mozambique, one from Zambia, two from Kenya and six from South Africa, setting the stage of how intense the battle for top honours in Africa is.
Leader of the pack is the Ulusaba Private Game Reserve in South Africa with 99.26 points, followed closely by runner up from Kenya Richard’s River Camp with 99.05 points.
Third came Bushmans’ Kloof Wilderness Reserve with 98.98 points ahead of fourth placed Makanyi Private Game Lodge with 98,95 points.
Fifth then came Royal Malewane with 98.63 points before Segera made its first entry into the top ten with 98.57 points.
Segera is a luxury retreat in Kenya, recently rated 5 star under the new classification guidelines introduced by the Kenyan government, and is broadly accepted to be the leader in this segment through a combination of hospitality elements and added components like its art collection, which makes Segera unique.
A full report on my visit to Segera is in the making but for now it is congratulations to Jens and his entire team who have taken the battle to be the best from Kenya to Africa at large.
