Congo Airways set for expansion this year

CONGO AIRLINES EYES JOHANNESBURG AND DUBAI AS FLEET EXPANSION GAINS TRACTION

Confirmation was given by the airline’s Director General Desire Balazire that 2018 will be a watershed year for the airline’s expansion plans.
The airline, which has been setting up a new base in Lubumbashi, will next launch services to Johannesburg it is understood, before eying Dubai, flights to which are to be operated with a leased Airbus A330. These will be the first destination beyond the Congo’s borders.


Later in 2018 are two additional Airbus A320 to join the fleet which presently comprises two A320’s and two Bombardier Q400’s, to support regional expansion with additional new destinations which may include Abidjan, Cotonou, Douala but also Addis Ababa and Nairobi, among others.
