LET 410 CARGO FLIGHT CRASHES ENROUTE FROM KALIMA TO BUKAVU

Details are only now emerging about the stricken flight of a Czech built LET410 aircraft, which lost contact with air traffic control yesterday and was later discovered to have crashed just minutes before its arrival in Bukavu.
The aircraft was reportedly chartered by UNHAS and operated by Agefreco. It had a crew of 2 pilots and 2 passengers on board, all of whom perished in the crash which took place in a forest, which made the search and recovery operation difficult.
Aircraft registration, year of entry into service and other related details were not available at this time although ATCNews has tried since yesterday evening to obtain this important information.
Condolences are expressed to the families, colleagues and friends of those on board.
