(Posted 16th August 2020)
It has now been confirmed that the Agefreco Air operated LET410, registered as 9S-GEN and MSN 892325, first entered service with the Soviet Air Force in July 1989, before in 1992 becoming part of the Russian Air Force fleet.
The aircraft then had at least 5 different private owners before joining the Agefreco fleet in 2019 under the current registration.
As initially mentioned was the aircraft enroute from Kalima to Bukavu as a cargo flight and came down under still unclear circumstances some 28 kilometres from the runway inside a forest which made initial search and rescue and then recovery efforts difficult.
