SEYCHELLES TOURISM ACADEMY STUDENTS HEAD TO MAURITIUS

Twelve students from the Seychelles Tourism Academy, who are studying for their Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management (ADHM), left Seychelles on 27th of June for their three months work attachment at the Constance Belle Mare Plage Resort in Mauritius. This is the fourth group of Advanced Diploma Students in Hospitality Management Studies. Notably was this the same group that originally was attached from the University of Seychelles to pursue their course, but who had requested to return to the Seychelles Tourism Academy for their Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management (ADHM). This academic path will give the students the chance to finally complete their studies at the Shannon College of Hotel Management in Ireland.
Prior to their departure to Mauritius, the students accompanied by their parents, met with Alain St. Ange, the Seychelles Minister for Tourism and Culture at his Ministry to receive their airline tickets, stipend and travelling documents. Minister St.Ange told the students: ‘If you are where you are today, is because you’ve proved to have so much determination. I am sure all of you want to succeed and to come back with flying colours, not only to make yourselves proud, but to make Seychelles proud. Work closely with the hotel’s General Manager. Work on your weaknesses and built on your strength. Yes, there will be challenges. Go to people that will be there to help, put forward your constraints and climb your way to overcome your challenges’.
Also present were Mr. Flavien Joubert, Principal of Seychelles Tourism Academy, Mr. Peter Moncherry, General Manager Hotel D’Application and Stella Bergman, Manager of Studies Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management (ADHM).
The twelve students will be back in Seychelles in September 2014 for the completion of their studies and can then decide to either enter the workforce or else continue with their academic studies.
