Lemuria Resort of Praslin in the Seychelles presents an 11 million US Dollars refurbishment and upgrade program
(Posted 08th January 2016)
Bruno Le Gac, the General Manager of the Constance Lemuria Seychelles earlier this week presented Minister Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture with the resort’s 11 million US Dollars upgrading program. The Constance Lemuria Seychelles on the island of Praslin, with its championship golf course, the only such facility in the Seychelles, was opened 16 years ago and has since then maintained its place as one of the leading resorts in Seychelles.
Also present at the meeting were Captain Guy Adam, one of the Directors of the resort’s holding company and Anne Lafortune, the Principal Secretary for Tourism in the Ministry of Tourism and Culture.
‘We saw the start of the works and we were impressed by the fresh appearance that the burst of colour is bringing to the resort‘ said Minister St.Ange when he was shown the upgraded sample rooms.
The resort was constructed at a time when it was in fashion to have rooms finished in dark varnished wood with thatched roofs set out in a green landscape. Today the tastes have changed and the new concept brings in a burst of colour into the resort according to Bruno Le Gac, the GM of the Resort.
In a presentation in the G.M.’s Office, Minister St.Ange saw plans of the project before visiting the first set of rooms. Minister Alain St.Ange congratulated the owners and management of Constance Lemuria Seychelles for the re-investment.
‘Our tourism industry is working and you have today enough faith to re-invest in your complex. We are encouraged by your commitment in our country’s tourism industry and we assure you that we shall continue to stand by our private sector partners, large and small, to ensure they all reap the benefits from their investment in the industry that remains the pillar of the seychelles economy‘ the minister then added.
The upgrading and refurbishment works are set to be completed by November 2016 in time for the festive season 2016/17.
