We are delighted to let you know that Cottar’s 1920s Safari Camp has been awarded ‘Global Ecosphere Retreats®‘ (GER) status, joining a unique group of only 10 properties in the world to achieve this status.
The GER accreditation process, initiated by the Zeitz Long Run Initiative 5 years ago, assesses the ‘4Cs’ (Conservation, Community, Culture and Commerce) of a company through a process of pre-qualification followed by three days of intense inspection by internationally qualified independent assessors. The certification recognizes Cottar’s contribution to the global sustainability movement and represents the most comprehensive and stringent of all accreditation processes in the world.

Cottar’s 1920s was approved in July 2014, shortly after receiving its impressive Gold Eco Rating from Ecotourism Kenya. Congratulations to the entire Cottar’s team!
