Deal with Kigio gives Porini / Gamewatchers added attractions

GAMEWATCHER / PORINI TAKE ON MALEWA WILDLIFE LODGE

(Posted 14th November 2014)

Porini Camps / Gamewatchers Safaris (www.porini.com) and have signed a deal with the Malewa Wildlife Lodge and the Kigio Wildlife Camp to take on the reservations, sales and marketing functions for the two eco lodges which are based on the Kigio Wildlife Sanctuary, a privately owned conservancy not dissimilar to Porini’s own operations in Amboseli, the Masai Mara and on Ol Pejeta. Located near the Kenyan Rift Valley town of Gilgil is the 3.500 acre conservancy conveniently placed between the two national parks Hell’s Gate (Mt. Longonot) and Lake Nakuru and can be reached with ease on an all tarmac highway from the Kenyan capital Nairobi in under two hours.

The best safari and bird watching experience is assured when actually booked at either of the two eco lodges, which are small and intimate and offer their guests the privacy they seek, besides good food and classic safari hospitality to meet the highest expectations of discerning travelers.

The Kigio Wildlife Camp comprises 11 all en-suite cottages of over 70 square metres each and is nestled under tall shady trees along the Malewa River.

The Malewa Wildlife Lodge is even smaller with only 5 cottages, one of them a family cottage with two bedrooms and is, like the sister property Kigio Wildlife Camp, holding a Bronze Rating by EcoTourism Kenya.

Both properties are thought to make a perfect fit for Gamewatchers’ Porini Camps by offering the missing link between the Laikipia plains, where Porini Rhino is located on the sprawling Ol Pejeta Conservancy and their two Masai Mara properties Porini Mara and Porini Lion which are on the Ol Kinyei and Olare Orok conservancies respectively.

No doubt will more details be revealed when Porini’s next monthly newsletter is published but for now can added information be accessed via www.kigio.com
