Rhino Dog Squad | Save The Rhino

REAL-WORLD SUPERHEROES

Every day the Rhino Dog Squad use their incredible talents to protect rhinos and other endangered wildlife. Amazingly, they also have a huge impact reducing crime in local communities across Kenya too. According to ranger Joseph ‘Dogs are hard-working, loyal and good performers. They are soldiers like us. They are assisting not just us, but the whole of Kenya. So they need a lot of support.’

More than 50% of the time dogs are actually out helping people, solving crimes in the areas around rhino conservancies. By reducing crime across the region and gaining the respect of the people, this activity encourages the public to come forward with information about poachers – underpinning the anti-poaching effort across the region.

did you knowIn Kenya over 57% of black and white rhinos live on private land

Private landowners are custodians of Kenya’s rhinos, guarding them for future generations. Collaboration is key for conservation, and the Association of Private Land Rhino Sanctuaries (APLRS) does just that. These rhino sanctuaries are working closely together to protect Kenya’s rhinos, provide essential habitat space and bring security and prosperity to the region.
