Greetings from all of us here at Driftwood. It’s been action-packed around here since our last newsletter. We took care of some maintenance to the main buildings and we’ve repaired our magnificent makuti in places. For you, it is the same unbeatable view and warm, hospitable service.
We once again hosted our doctor friends from USA, who very kindly donate their time to perform surgery/consult with those who otherwise would not have access to such specialist care. Thank you.
We too got caught up in the highs, lows, thrills and spills of the 2019 Rugby World Club and thoroughly enjoyed watching every try scored…including the last 2. Congratulations to South Africa for bringing it home when it counted! |

With just 30 days to Christmas and 37 to 2020, we thought it a good idea to remind you of what will be going on during the festive season and other interesting things you can do while visiting with us. |

Christmas Craft Fair
21st December 2019
Last year, I remember buying hand made chocolates and freshly baked cup-cakes. I also found the perfect Christmas gift for my best friend. Don’t miss out, it’s always a fun day out. |

Take a late afternoon drive and visit a special place called the Arabuko-Sokoke Forest. If you are very lucky, you will be there when the very shy forest elephants venture out to have a drink at the waterhole. Grab your binoculars and camera, a few drinks and maybe even a light snack to witness the very special moment. Definitely worth it!

Discover more about Malindi than you could have imagined. When you stay with us for 3 nights or more, we’ll arrange for a private TukTuk tour. Your driver & guide will show you some of the well know tourist attractions, stop along the way for some great photo opportunities and introduce you to a side of Malindi most people don’t get to see.

Worth noting…
For those of you driving from Nairobi down to the coast, you may wish to consider going through the park. Whilst the road through remains gravel, from Sala gate all the way through to Malindi is now a very pleasant and comfortable tar! |
