#DriftwoodClub news from #Malindi

Greetings to you from Malindi. It is another magnificent day here at the coast.

Whenever I start writing these newsletters, I spend a little time going though our library of images, trying to find just the right shot. The view does not change, but the light and colours often do depending on the time of day you capture it. Whichever is the case, I had difficulty choosing a single one today…which one do you prefer?

With half-term & Easter fast approaching, we thought we should catch up with you all. We have plenty of availability and are ready to make your stay another memorable one. There is always lots to do around here, including some of the following suggestions…
If you, like us, are an early riser and enjoy the peace and quiet of first light, then we suggest you grab your coffee and enjoy the sunrise from our new deck area. We have daybeds set up with plenty of oversized cushions to make it that much more comfortable to take it all in.
We’ve got six nations rugby games going on until the end of March, so why not come on down and support your favorite team. The games are always exciting and there will usually be other fans watching with you down by the pool. Its open air and covid compliant!
Or…if you would prefer and more chilled experience, our BigMama dhow cruises might be just what you are after. Cool off during these hot and humid months with a slow cruise to Myungu. Available for short sunset cruises or all-day swimming, snorkeling & picnic cruises, there is simply no better way to spend the day.

Our friends at the Malindi Sea Fishing Club have recently hosted the Malindi International Billfish fishing tournament and what a great weekend it was! There were 14 marlin and 8 sailfish caught and safely released…which tells us that there are definitely still fish about.

Are you interested in hooking a marlin for yourself? Ask us how…

Malindi is a town full of rich and interesting history. When you stay with us for 3 nights or more, we’ll arrange a private TukTuk tour. Your driver & guide will show you some of the well known tourist attractions, stop along the way for some great photo opportunities and introduce you to a side of Malindi most people don’t get to see.
Our standard half-board rate is Ksh7500 per person per night, with children under 12 at Ksh4000 per child per night (under 2’s stay for free) and the reservations team are here to assist you.
Those who wish to fly, there are many flight choices landing at either Malindi or Mombasa every day of the week or if you are looking to take the more scenic route, the SGR train runs from Nairobi to Mariakani station every day. It is cost effective and we’ll send a taxi to collect you on arrival to complete your transfer to Malindi.
