As the third and final day of WTM Africa drew to a close, Dubai Tourism was delighted with the response received from the visiting trade. ‘We met with many travel professionals and media who are keen to learn more about what Dubai had to offer. We were able to use this platform to announce our Africa Mega Fami that will see 500 travel agents and tour operators from the continent visit Dubai in June this year, and of course we were very proud to receive an award for the best stand to do business‘ said Stella Obinwa, Regional Director for Africa for Dubai Tourism.
Fourteen Dubai city partners were on the Dubai stand, offering a comprehensive range of services for travellers from Africa, including budget and five star luxury holidays, hotels and tour packages. Guests from the travel industry visiting the stand were treated to a showcase of Dubai’s hotel, shopping, and upcoming family destination attractions, with Dubai Parks and Resorts opening three theme parks later in the year. Visitors also enjoyed the cultural arts of henna painting and calligraphy while others had a captivating experience up close with the majestic falcon.
Dubai can be reached from across the continent nonstop by Emirates and an increasing number of destinations by FlyDubai as well as by Kenya Airways via Nairobi, RwandAir via Kigali and other airlines through their respective hubs in the Middle East such as Doha and Abu Dhabi. |
