LUXURY HOTEL REOPENS ITS DOORS THIS MORNING
(Posted 01st August 2019)
The Dusit D2 is opening its doors again today for business, in fact beginning to serve breakfast before the ink of this article is even dry.
It took the hotel’s owners and management company just 196 days after the tragic events of 15th and 16th of January this year, to make visitors think that the hotel is brand new, so sparkling a look does the D2 sport today.
The 101 rooms and suites, located at Riverside 14 – also home to some of Kenya’s leading corporate names – will no doubt be swiftly filling up again as friends of the brand, corporate clientel and business visitors will begin to flock back to meet ‘an old friend‘ again.
The 24 / 7 Soko Restaurant – Soko meaning market in Kiswahili – with both an indoor and outdoor section awaits guests again as does the Soko’s Gourmet ‘Deli’ where specialties are served.
The Soi Restaurant opens daily for lunch and dinner, offering a wide range of Pan Asian cuisine.
The hotel’s six meeting rooms are ready again to host corporate events and meetings, catering for numbers between 18 and 200 depending on location and set up style.
Mike Metaxas, General Manager of the hotel, expressed his delight to ATCNews about the speed at which the hotel had moved towards reopening and the run in of the last few days made waves on social and regular media, using hashtags like #d2reopening #weareback and #WakenyaPamoja.
ATCNews was present at the flag hoisting ceremony and commemoration ceremony yesterday at the hotel and expressed the ATCNews team’s best wishes to the hotel for a splendid restart today.
