Eco Tourism Kenya hands Cottar’s 1920 Camp a Gold rating

COTTARS 1920 CAMP GIVEN ‘GOLD RATING’ BY ECO TOURISM KENYA

(Posted 03rd July 2014)

The Cottar’s 1920 Safari Camp, together with the Cottar’s Homestead, has just received the coveted Gold rating by Eco Tourism Kenya. After an extensive auditing process was the property upgraded from their previous Silver rating which they held for several years now. Only 12 safari camps across the country are ranked in the Gold category, a sign how complex and demanding the criteria are which ETK has set for applicants.

The camp, established in the 1990’s by the Cottar’s, and the homestead, are located on a 6.000 acres conservancy which adjoins the Masai Mara Game Reserve. The safari camp itself only comprises 10 suites under canvas while the homestead, one could say well nearly a mansion in the wilderness, can comfortably sleep as many as 10 guests in 5 self-contained bedrooms with other facilities on offer for guests second to none.
