NOMINATIONS ARE NOW INVITED FOR THE NEXT ECO WARRIOR AWARDS

The next Eco Warrior Award night will this year once again be held alongside the Magical Kenya Travel Expo in Nairobi, as has become customary now for the past few years.
With hundreds of hosted buyers, local, regional and international media in attendance for the Kenya Tourism Board event, has the Eco Warrior Award Gala Night of Eco Tourism Kenya also gained much greater exposure and visibility, highlighting to visitors and media alike to what length the destination goes to go green and stay green.
The awards recognize efforts, innovations and exceptional achievements for promoting responsible tourism and enhancing tourism sustainability which directly conserves the natural environment linked to local communities (either credible individuals or groups) through mutually beneficial and equitable partnerships. Nature conservation through community development by tourism is the essence of ecotourism.
The awards also aim to celebrate ecotourism best practices in different tourism sectors and tourism set ups in Kenya. The general criteria are given for each category below. Potential nominees for each category must clearly demonstrate elements of responsible, respectful and sustainable tourism

Conservancy of the Year 2016
- Private Conservancy
- Community Conservancy
Eco-rated Facility of the Year 2016
- Lodge
- Tented Camp
- Hotel/Serviced Apartment
Ecotourism Community Owned Enterprise of the Year 2016
Ecotourism Tour/Travel Operator of the Year 2016
Ecotourism Safari Airline of the Year 2016
Ecotourism Training Institution of the Year 2016
Safari Guide of the Year 2016
Ecotourism Journalist of the Year 2016
This years theme is dubbed ‘Sustainable Tourism – Our Diversity Our Strength‘
