SEPTEMBER 23RD SET FOR LAUNCH OF EDELWEISS FLIGHTS TO SEYCHELLES

Swiss holiday airline Edelweiss, part of the Lufthansa Group, will launch a once a week flight from Zurich to Mahe beginning 23rd of September.
This will be another boost for the archipelago’s tourism industry with air connectivity once again increased to accommodate the growing demand for holidays on the paradise islands. The Airbus A340 service is expected to operate year round and not, as was initially mentioned, only during the high season.

Earlier this year it was reported here that the airline had signed a three year deal to market the islands in conjunction with the Seychelles Tourism Board.
Mrs. Sherin Francis, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, has expressed STB’s hope that visitor numbers from Switzerland, last year standing at over 12.000 already, will see a further rise.
