Emirates and Seychelles Tourism maintain close ties after signing new deal

SEYCHELLES AND EMIRATES RENEW BROAD PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT

(Posted 08th May 2014)

Emirates, the award winning national airline of Dubai, and the Seychelles Tourism Board, yesterday signed a new long term agreement of cooperation, cementing a long standing relationship which has seen Emirates flights since 2005, when they first started flying from Dubai to Mahe, increase to nearly double daily with 12 frequencies per week. (During the Dubai DXB runway repairs the flights are reduced to one per day but using a larger aircraft to compensate in part for the capacity loss during the 80 days between 01st May and 20th of July)

The new deal was signed on the sidelines of the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai, where the Seychelles are one of the regular exhibitors using the tourism trade show to market the archipelago in a market of growing importance.

The MoU was signed by Rose-Marie Hoareau, Director of Marketing of STB and the airline’s Senior Vice President Commercial Operations Mr. Orhan Abbas.

Once more we affirm our loyal support for the Seychelles and its tourism industry. Our partnership so far with the archipelago has been fruitful to both parties. Our hard work, hand in hand with the Ministry of Tourism and the Seychelles Tourism Board has been mutually beneficial. We will continue to jointly explore new opportunities with an aligned vision and I remain confident that further positive results will be achieved in the coming months and years’ said Abbas on the occasion of the signing while Rose-Marie responded: ‘I would like to state that first and foremost we are very pleased and feel privileged to have the continuous support of Emirates in the marketing of Seychelles. We hope that this relationship for the coming years will be strengthened and together we can achieve more’.
