Emirates appoints first ever Seychellois to position of Country Manager

EMIRATES CONFIRMS DOUBLE DAILY FLIGHTS TO SEYCHELLES

(Posted 07th September 2014)

28th of October is D-Day for the Seychelles when Emirates will up their number of weekly flights from presently 12 to a double daily service, using their Airbus A340-500 aircraft on the route. The cabin is configured in a three class layout with 12 First Class seats, 42 Business Class seats and 204 Economy Class seats.

The 258 inbound seats on each flight, or 516 seats a day will make for a grand total of 3.096 seats every week, a

development which was warmly welcomed by tourism stakeholders who have been advocating for more seats and more flights to fill the beds in new resorts. The same applies even more for the many Seychellois’ owned small accommodation facilities which offer Bed&Breakfast, Self-Catering Chalets, Holiday Villas and Apartments across the three main islands of Mahe, Praslin and La Digue.

This upgrade to double daily flights will now make sure that travelers from any point across the Emirates’ world network will be able to connect in Dubai with just one stop enroute to the Seychelles islands, using the most convenient connection without much transit time.

Meanwhile did news also break that the airline has appointed Ms. Denise Rassool as their new country manager for the Seychelles, who subsequently paid a courtesy call with the Emirates’ Indian Ocean General Manager Omar Ramtoola to the Minister for Tourism and Culture Alain St. Ange.

Ms. Rassool worked with Emirates since 2004 and is the first Seychellois national to hold this important position after previously service as Sales Manager in the same office.

Congratulations to Ms. Rassool on her new appointment to take charge of the island’s predominant foreign carrier which will from October onwards offer a whopping 188.340 seats a year.
