Emirates expands free WiFi facilities on board

Inflight Wi-Fi usage, already popular from the start when few airlines offered the service on board, has grown tremendously.Emirates has equipped much of its fleet with the technology to allow guests connect while on board and yesterday announced a doubling of the free 10 MB’s presently offered to economy class passengers to 20 MB’s during the first two hours after login. Effective immediately, all Emirates Skywards Platinum and Gold members will now enjoy free unlimited Wi-Fi during their Emirates flight, regardless of their class of travel, a huge reward for loyal customers.

The same offer also applies to all Emirates Skywards members travelling in First and Business class. In addition, will economy class passengers and non-Skywards members enjoy 20MB of free data usage within the first 2 hours of login, double the current 10 MB’s now given.
Additional data bundles can be purchased thereafter available in 150 MB’s and 500 MB’s respectively.

With the laptop and tablet ban now lifted for flights from Dubai to the United States is the uptake expected to rise substantially.

In East Africa does Emirates fly daily to Entebbe but also serves Dar es Salaam. Nairobi, effective 01st of July, now receives three daily flights substantially increasing capacity to Kenya.
