ZIMBABWE’S VICTORIA FALLS PREPARES FOR EMIRATES FLIGHTS
(Posted 16th July 2017)
Usually reliable sources have confirmed that Victoria Falls International Airport will soon see Emirates fly into the iconic town, reportedly three times a week in combination with Windhoek, the Namibian capital.
This will no doubt give a major boost to Zimbabwe’s tourism industry and open a new link to the rest of the world, which can – once flights are launched – be reached with just one stop in Dubai.
The aircraft used will be a Boeing B777 and traffic days have yet to be established for the proposed new flight routing.
African tourism receives just a fraction of visitors per annum for the entire continent, in fact less than Spain or France as individual countries. Efforts are underway to address this anomaly by pushing for more air connections and wider promotional and marketing efforts to bring Africa’s safari parks, private game reserves, beaches and historical monuments and sites closer to the key tourism source markets.
