Entebbe is one of Etihad’s new 2015 destinations

ETIHAD EYES ENTEBBE FLIGHTS FROM 2015 ONWARDS

(Posted 11th July 2014)

Abu Dhabi’s national airline Etihad is according to information received, eyeing passenger flights to Entebbe from 2015 onwards, though no specific launch date could be obtained at this time. Only recently did the airline commence cargo flights to Uganda and the start of passenger flights will be the next logical step to expand services into Africa.

The arrival of Etihad will no doubt stir up the Ugandan market where passengers benefit from competition through lower fares, as Gulf carriers Emirates and Qatar Airways compete with Turkish Airlines and the European legacy carriers like Brussels Airlines, KLM and British Airways. In addition do Africa’s big league airlines like Kenya Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, South African Airways and Egypt Air try to get their fair market share, regularly over the pricing of their tickets for long haul flights.

Etihad, one of the world’s fastest growing airlines, offers transit passengers in Abu Dhabi an ever greater choice of destinations, through their own network and their codeshare partners like Air Berlin and will, besides Entebbe, add at least 5 more destinations including Hong Kong. When Abu Dhabi’s new Central Terminal is ready for use, will travelers be able to enjoy one of the most modern airports in the world.
