Registration and competition entries for the Africa Youth in Tourism Innovation Summit & Challenge 2024 are still open!
Africa Tourism Partners in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism Namibia, UNWTO and BDO invites innovative African youth in travel and tourism looking for funding, partnership and mentorship opportunities to present their projects to the global market place in order to find the required support for their programmes.
This challenge seeks and welcomes creative ideas and solutions that go beyond technology yet are relevant to the travel, tourism, and MICE industries, for assessment and judgement by a distinguished panel of industry executives. The summit and other media channels showcase the top five finalists of the Africa Youth in Tourism Innovation Challenge to industry leaders, mentors, and possible funders and/or partners.
Challenge Timelines:
- Challenge Opens: 01st November 2023.
- Closing date: 01st March 2024.
- Adjudicators will shortlist Top 5: 22nd March 2024.
- Shortlisted project promoters will be informed: 29th March 2024.
- Mentorship for elevator pitches (12 hours): 10th April – 16th May 2024.
- Submission of shortlisted project promoters: 5-minute presentation at the Summit – 15th May 2024.
- Top 3 announced on 31st May 2024.
- Competitor required to show a demo/ Minimum Viable Product (MVP) (5min) during the presentation.
- Winners & Runners-up announcement: At ATLF Awards in Gaborone, Botswana in September 2024

THE AFRICA YOUTH IN TOURISM INNOVATION SUMMIT
Date: 28-31 May 2024
Venue: Windhoek, Namibia
The 6th and 2024 Youth in Tourism Innovation Summit & Challenge will be hosted by the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism, Namibia. The key focus areas will include but not limited to youth entrepreneurship, and students’ immersion in innovation, small enterprise development, personal transformation, and self-actualisation.
Delegates will connect with African and global tourism leaders, entrepreneurial innovators, and partner organizations from across Africa and rest of the world.
