Entries for the Africa Youth in Tourism Innovation Summit & Challenge 2023 will officially close this Friday.
Imagine pitching your revolutionary tourism idea to industry leaders in Windhoek, Namibia. Make it a reality at the Africa Youth In Tourism Innovation Summit and Challenge. Submit your entry for the Innovation Challenge by March 1, 2024.
Challenge Timelines:
- Closing date: Friday, 01st March 2024.
- Adjudicators will shortlist Top 5: 22nd March 2024.
- Shortlisted project promoters will be informed: 29th March 2024.
- Mentorship for elevator pitches (12 hours): 10th April – 16th May 2024.
- Submission of shortlisted project promoters: 5-minute presentation to be presented at the Summit – 15th May 2024.
- Top 3 announced on 31st May 2024 at the Summit in Windhoek, Namibia
- Competitor required to show a demo/ Minimum Viable Product (MVP) (5min) during the presentation.
- Winners & Runners-up announcement: At the ATLF Awards in Gaborone, Botswana in September 2024.

THE AFRICA YOUTH IN TOURISM INNOVATION SUMMIT
Date: 28-31 May 2024
Venue: Windhoek Country Club Resort, Namibia
The 6th and 2024 Youth in Tourism Innovation Summit & Challenge will be hosted by the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism, Namibia at the Windhoek Country Club Resort.
The purpose of the Summit is to support African youth, start-ups, small businesses, and accelerator programmes as they explore opportunities within the global tourism ecosystem to become future leaders and change agents in the sector.
Other objectives are to create a viable network to support youths, start-ups and small enterprises to maximise their leadership potential; help to drive a transformative change in their societies and nations at large through critical and design thinking; train, inspire and equip youths across Africa to impact their world, and proffer lasting innovative solutions for growing Africa tourism sector; and empower youth at all levels, start-ups and small enterprises by offering market access, business development, value-partnership, mentorship and funding solutions.
