ERITREAN AIRLINES LAUNCHES ADDIS FLIGHTS
(Posted 08th August 2018)
The launch of initially three times a week flights by Eritrean from Asmara to Addis Ababa brings the overall number of frequencies now to 17, where only a month ago no scheduled services at all were available until the new Ethiopian Prime Minister made good of his promise to end hostilities with neighbours Eritrea.
Eritrean, with flights on Monday, Thursday and Sunday, joins Ethiopian Airlines which has already moved from the initial single daily flight to double daily services.
Eritrean Airlines presently operates a single Boeing B737-300 and is currently considering an offer by Ethiopian Airlines to become an equity partner and help raise the airline’s profile and operations.
Besides the new service to Addis does Eritrean also fly to Khartoum, Cairo and Jeddah.
