Ethiopian Airlines, the largest airline in Africa and one of the fastest growing airline
brands globally, celebrates the 50th Anniversary of its services to Kinshasa, Democratic
Republic of the Congo (DRC). Ethiopian marked the milestone event in DRC in a colorful
celebration in the presence of higher officials of DRC, Ethiopian Group CEO and
executives, and DRC aviation officials.

Since the launch of its flight to Kinshasa back in 1975, Ethiopian has been offering an
uninterrupted service to the city, significantly contributing to the socio-economic ties
between Kinshasa, and the rest of its global network.

Commenting on the achievement, Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mr. Mesfin Tasew said,
As a pan-African airline, celebrating 50 years of uninterrupted service to the Democratic
Republic of the Congo is a big milestone for Ethiopian. The moment highlights our unwavering
commitment to serving the nation and the entire continent in general. We are proud of the strong
bond we have built with DRC and its nation over the 5 decades we’ve been operational in the
country. As we rejoice this momentous occasion, we look forward to expanding our services more
to the country and continue serving our passengers on the route.”

Ethiopian Airlines currently offers a total of 32 weekly passenger flights to three
destinations in DRC: Kinshasa, Lubumbashi, and Goma. Ethiopian also offers dedicated
cargo service to Kinshasa. Ethiopian Airlines’ flights to/from DRC play as a significant
bridge, connecting people and business.

As a true pan Africa carrier, Ethiopian has been committed to bringing Africa together
and closer to the world. Currently Ethiopian is running the largest network in Africa,
offering a wide range of passenger and cargo services.
