ETHIOPIAN AIRLINES ADDS GENEVA TO GROWING LIST OF NEW 2018 DESTINATIONS

Ethiopian Airlines, Africa’s largest and financially most successful aviation group, and SKYTRAX certified Four Star Global Airline, earlier today announced that it will launch direct thrice weekly flights to Geneva, Switzerland on the 03rd of June. Hosting the highest number of international organizations in the world including the headquarters of many of the agencies of the United Nations and the Red Cross, is Geneva a global city and center for diplomacy while Addis Ababa is the host city of the African Union.
The CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, Mr. Tewolde GebreMariam, said: “Geneva hosts the highest number of international organizations in the world, making it a global hub for diplomacy. It’s a perfect complement to Addis our main hub and Africa’s diplomatic capital with the headquarters of the African Union and the UN-ECA (Economic Commission for Africa). Government officials and staff from regional and international organizations in Geneva and across our extensive African network will be able to enjoy seamless and convenient connectivity enabling to carry out their mission with ease and conveniences.” Tewolde in a different forum had mentioned that the airline was going to add at least 10 new destinations in the first half of the year with more expected in Q3 and Q4 of 2018.
The new route, via Milan, will be operated with a Boeing 787-800, one of the most technologically advanced aircraft in the carrier’s fleet, featuring up-to-date amenities with redefined travel experiences.

Departures from Addis Ababa every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 23.10 hrs
Departures from Geneva every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 20.45 hrs.
