Ethiopian Airlines expands in flight WiFi to Boeing wide bodied aircraft

ETHIOPIAN WIDENS IN FLIGHT WIFI FROM THE #AIRBUS #A350 TO THE #BOEING #B777 AND #B787 FLEET

(Posted 28th February 2020)

Information has been received from Addis Ababa that, following the successful launch of in-flight WiFi on the Ethiopian Airlines’ Airbus A350 fleet, the airline is now expanding the service progressively to the Boeing B777 and Boeing B787 fleet.
That will widen connectivity for ET passengers across their global network, at least on services operated by wide body aircraft.
The new value added feature can be used with smartphones, tablets and laptops and the fee can be paid for with ShebaMiles or conventional credit cards, giving passengers the choice of options to stay connected throughout their flight or else just purchase smaller data bundles and periodically check mail or send messages.
The first 10 MB are free for every passenger as a gesture of goodwill from Ethiopian Airlines.
Though no announcement has been made yet is it expected that, once the entire B777 and B787 fleets are equipped with the new service, the rollout will continue to the airline’s B737 fleet.
