Ethiopian Airlines is getting ready to launch flights from Addis Ababa to Houston in Texas / USA come mid December.
The route will initially be served three times a week though details on any waypoints and aircraft type to be used are still awaited.
The airline confirmed the new destination via Twitter yesterday.
The new route will widen the catchment area for travelers to Africa from the southern part of the United States and with tourists from there making up large percentages of high spending visitors to countries like Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and beyond will a direct flight to Addis and prompt connections to their final destination no doubt spur further growth for the respective tourism sectors.
