Ethiopian Airlines’ fleet continues to grow as another De Havilland, formerly known as Bombardier Q400 aircraft is performing its ferry flight from Canada to Addis Ababa. The aircraft already bears an Ethiopian registration, ET-AXP.
Africa’s leading airline has in the past also seconded such aircraft to partner airlines, albeit in the respective livery, so it can be assumed that this latest addition to the Q400 fleet will be based in Addis Ababa and from there perform flights on the domestic network and into nearer regional destinations for off peak departures when the capacity of a B737 would be too large.
The Q400’s of Ethiopian Airlines are configured in a two class cabin layout of business and economy.
Happy Landings to the new aircraft, her crews and passengers.
