AFRICA TOURISM LEADERSHIP FORUM AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING TRANSPORTATION PERFORMANCE GOES TO ETHIOPIAN AIRLINES

As the 2019 edition of the Africa Tourism Leadership Forum drew to an end earlier this evening was the event crowned by the Gala Dinner for the ATLF Awards.
Nine categories of awards were up for grabs, besides the opening ‘act‘ during which the Youth Innovation Award for which 6 finalists competed.
Here did the award committee decide to acknowledge three of the presentations with the Cable Car Durban promoters being the only ones on stage to receive smart phones and a scholarship at The Private Hotel School worth 15.000 Rand for a Leadership Programme and Mentorship for one year.
When the main awards came up for mention was the first winner to be announced the Rwanda Development Board in the category of ‘Leading in progressive policies‘.
The ‘Outstanding Entrepreneurship‘ category was won by the Cam Consulting Group from South Africa while the ‘Women in Leadership‘ award went to Francine Zana of Exclusive Hospitality Concepts.
The ‘Most Innovative Business Tourism Destination‘ trophy went to the city of Cape Town, aka Africa’s Mother City.
The Azalia Hotel Group based in Abidjan captured the ‘Outstanding Accommodation Facilty / Group‘ award while Ethiopian Airlines, Africa’s largest and most successful airline, beat the competition by claiming the ‘Outstanding Tourism Transportation‘ award.
ATCNews partner in Ghana, VoyagesAfriq for the second year running received the ‘Outstanding Africa Tourism Media & Marketing‘ trophy, claimed by none other than the company’s Publisher Kojo Bentum-Williams.
The ‘Championing Sustainability‘ award went to African Parks and the final award of the night, the ‘Destination Africa Lifetime‘ award was presented to the Rwandan High Commissioner to South Africa on behalf of President Kagame.
The 2020 edition venue and dates of the Africa Tourism Leadership Forum and Awards will be announced in due course and are expected to take place in Eastern Africa.
