ETHIOPIAN AIRLINES BECOMES AFRICA’S DOMINANT CARGO AIRLINE AS ANOTHER B777F JOINS THE FLEET

Ethiopian Cargo & Logistics Services, Africa’s Largest Air Cargo operator, has taken delivery of its 10th B777F, under registration Number ET-AWEa few days ago at Bole International Airport.
The acquisition of the aircraft increases the total number of freighters in Ethiopian Airlines’ fleet to twelve.
Maintaining its trajectory of growth and expansion in the global cargo industry, Africa’s largest cargo service provider and one of the major global cargo network operators, Ethiopian Cargo & Logistics Services, plays a critical role in providing global connectivity by flying across the five continents.
The new aircraft will help Ethiopian strengthen its leading role in cargo operations across Africa and beyond by facilitating the export of perishable farm products, garments, mining products and other goods in need of urgent delivery. The airline equally plays a leading role in the import of high value industrial products and inputs, pharmaceuticals to Africa, thereby expanding the airline’s commendable contribution in boosting the continent’s airfreight as laid out in their Vision 2025.
Currently, Ethiopian Cargo & Logistics Services serves over 55 international dedicated freighter destinations in Africa, the Gulf, the Middle East, Asia, the Americas and Europe.
With more freighters on order, Ethiopian is set to consolidate its role in availing much needed airfreight services and capacity within Africa and beyond, further catalyzing the continent’s economic growth.
Looking at the airline’s 15-year growth road map, aptly named Vision 2025, Ethiopian Cargo & Logistics Services envisions generating two billion dollars of revenue annually with 19 dedicated freighters transporting 820,000 tons of cargo.
