As a valued ShebaMiles member, I would like to personally update you on the changes we made to the ShebaMiles program in response to the impact COVID-19 is having on all of us. We are responding to COVID-19 by allowing more flexibility to our dear members and would like to highlight the details on the favourable changes we are making to ensure that you continue to enjoy your membership benefits.
Miles Validity Extension
We want to ensure that ShebaMiles Miles you earned pre-COVID-19 are available to you when you are ready to use them. Accordingly, your accrued miles will not expire in 2020. As a result, you will retain full mileage balance in 2021 calendar year. Our standard miles-expiration policy will resume on December 31,2021.
Tier Status Extension
To ensure that our top tier members have ample time to enjoy the benefits they have earned, we have extended current tier statuses expiring in 2020 by one additional year through December 31, 2021. All current Platinum, Gold and Silver members will have their status extended through December 2021. The extension will allow you to take advantage of the tier benefits when you’re ready to travel again.
Your membership card will be updated with the new expiration date of your tier. You can check it by logging in to your ShebaMiles account on www.ethiopianairlines.com or through Ethiopian mobile app.
Platinum Complimentary Upgrade Certificate Extension.
ShebaMiles Platinum Complimentary Upgrade certificates that are set to expire in December 2020 will be extended through December 31, 2021. Our Platinum members will have the opportunity to use their 2020 unutilized complimentary upgrade certificates until December 31, 2021.
Flexible Rebooking and Refund Policy
To give you more flexibility, we have waived all rebooking and refund fees on ShebaMiles award tickets and upgrade awards for departure until December 31, 2020. Accordingly, our valued members who already hold ShebaMiles award ticket with travel dates until December 31, 2020 and wish to change to a later date or refund, may do so without any rebooking/refund fees.
We are looking at ways to better support our customers, and as part of that effort we will continue to update our accrual/redemption policy. We will communicate any updates in due course.

Am a frequent flyer with the Sheba mile number ET00015580972. Am on silver shebamile. But on the 26th of March when I was traveling from Lagos to Lilongwe, at the check in counter I was told that am no longer on silver shebamile.
Pls help me ratefy.
