ETHIOPIAN AIRLINES BAGS MAJOR AWARDS FROM SEVERAL ORGANIZATIONS

Ethiopian Airlines has won the ‘Overall Excellence for Outstanding Crisis Leadership 2020 Award’ from the Global Finance Magazine The award recognizes the extra mile the airline went in responding to the global pandemic!
The airline, one of only a handful around the world, at the end of their financial year in early July 2020 posted a profit despite losing passenger revenues of more than a billion US Dollars. Ethiopian throughout the pandemic continued to fly an albeit reduced passenger network but at the same time expanded cargo operations, aided by the unprecedented conversion of nearly 20 wide body aircraft passenger cabins for cargo operations.
This catapulted Ethiopian Airlines into the top 5 of global airlines during the height of the pandemic lockdowns and affirmed its place as Africa’s leading airline.
Meanwhile has Ethiopian also bagged the main airline award at the World Travel Awards virtual gala ceremony, when it was once again named as Africa’s leading airline.
Congratulations to the airline, its entire staff and management led by Ato Tewolde Gebremariam.
